Tapas Tuesday: Pimientos de Padrón Fritos

This weeks tapa: pimientos de padrón fritos
English translation: fried Padrón peppers

The Padrón pepper comes from the municipality of Padrón, in the province of La Coruña in Galicia (northwestern Spain). However, because of their popularity among tourists and locals alike, they are also grown in other parts of the country. Their taste is mild and I love them for their simplicity. Needing only to be fried for a minute or so in oil and sprinkled with coarse salt, this tapa is delicious no matter where you eat it. The picture above I took in my home- it was a snack I made on Sunday!
